sound memory
(in development)
interactive sound installation
collaboration with yann leguay
Sound Memory is a portrait of collective memory in the sense of a museum piece celebrating 50 yrs of independence only that instead of pictures it consists of layers of cumulated audio archive, pop music, recorded & live audio material donated by visitors of the exhibition.
The installation grows and evolves in time & complexity as more visitors contribute to it. Through a combination of live control and/or software programming as well as a number of interactive devices including displacement, occupation of space & manipulation of sound objects the dispositive enables the visitor/spectator to become active participant/performer of the work. The work only evolves through the 'donation' of its visitors.
